Kneewall – Defined
A short wall in a room with a sloped ceiling. It is usually formed when the room ceiling follows the roofline of a house.
- The sidewalls of finished rooms in attics. A wall that shortens the span of the roof rafters by acting as a knee brace, in that it supports the rafters at some intermediate point along their length. A short wall constructed to extend the height of an existing foundation or other wall system. (Dictionary of Construction)
